They're partnering with @Sony to launch @Soneium, a new Layer 2 built on Optimism.

For the Astar Network community, this is a (very) good news:

🔸 Sony ressources is likely to benefit Soneium and Astar in a major way

🔸 Soneium growth and revenues will impact Astar positively. The exact mechanisms have yet to be disclosed,

🔸 $ASTR will be used more because of its new utilities.

This is also pushing Web3’s adoption as it brings a massive Web2 players in.

Soneium L2 (Testnet) Launch

Soneium Layer 2 is built on Optimism’s OP Stack.

It was rolled out by Sony with Startale’s support.

This really shows the interest generated by these announcements.

So, Why is it so big?

“Web 3 mass adoption” is talked about by many people but we have yet to see it happen.

Astar, led by @sota and @marteen is proposing a brillant and innovative approach.

Onboarding people to Web 3 through existing channels of gaming, entertainment, and technology.
